Vanilla is the most famous aroma in the world, while its cultivation as a houseplant is rather rare. It is the only orchid whose fruits are edible. To thrive, this epiphytic orchid requires a climbing support and a substrate rich in organic matter - composed of sphagnum moss, bark, and perlite. The flowers have a short lifespan; they open in the morning and fade after a few hours.
