Vanilla is the most famous flavor in the world, while its cultivation as a houseplant is quite rare. It is the only orchid whose fruits are edible. To thrive, this epiphytic orchid needs a support to climb and a substrate rich in organic matter - composed of sphagnum moss, bark, and perlite. The flower has a short lifespan, opening in the morning and closing after a few hours.
