Stanhopea oculata, nicknamed "Upside- Down Orchid ", is a spectacular orchid known for its unique flowering, where the flowers grow downward and give off an intense fragrance. The large flowers (8 to 12 cm in diameter) are waxy and often spotted with yellow, cream and brown. They have dark markings resembling eyes, hence its name '' Oculata ''. Also, the orchid prefers soft water and to be watered by drenching.
