The Philodendron 'Birkin' has a smaller habit and slower growth compared to most philodendrons. We appreciate it for its heart-shaped leaves that appear entirely green and develop beautiful white stripes upon maturity. In fact, the 'Birkin' variety is a hybrid plant resulting from a mutation of the Philodendron 'Rojo Congo'. If you want to preserve its beautiful 'Birkin' genetics, it is recommended to cut off new leaves that have reddish hues. These are the 'Rojo Congo' genes trying to overpower the 'Birkin'. Philodendrons do not need high light to survive. However, the Philodendron Birkin prefers moderate to bright light to maintain its vibrant colors.
