It's now possible to grow small papaya trees indoors. Carica papaya is a dwarf variety of papaya that thrives in pots. Under optimal growing conditions, it can even produce several fruits. If you grow your papaya tree indoors, in the spring, when it begins to bloom, you'll need to manually pollinate the flowers to encourage fruit formation. To do this, you can use a soft brush and transfer the pollen from one flower to another. Fruiting is possible after 8-12 months. It is strongly recommended to provide it with a minimum of 6 hours of sunlight per day and to give it a regular supply of fertilizer.

Caution! Risk of toxicity to animals. Papaya latex (present in the stem/green fruit) can be irritating to the skin.
