Bromeliads - a plant for color lovers! The foliage is arranged in a rosette, stiff and slightly arched. The long, rigid leaves are pale green, streaked with cream and pink. Colors become more intense with good light. The heart of the rosette can take on more pinkish or reddish tones when it is in bloom. The small flowers are blue-violet. Its flowering lasts several months, but only occurs once. Damaged leaves should not be cut, as they shelter offshoots that will take over.
