The Cleistocactus colademononis, also known as the “Monkey Tail Cactus”, is a spectacular and highly sought-after species for its original and ornamental appearance. This epiphytic cactus develops long, pendulous cylindrical stems, which can reach 2 to 3 meters in length over time. Its stems are covered with soft, white bristles, intertwined with thin yellowish to reddish spines, which give them a soft and fluffy appearance, reminiscent of a monkey's tail. Flowering is another remarkable asset: the Cleistocactus colademononis produces long, bright red to magenta tubular flowers, which emerge along the stems and contrast beautifully with their white covering. These spectacular flowers appear mainly on adult and mature stems.
