Marantas have unusual foliage. In addition to being textured and graphic, the 'Silver Band' variety has fine, curved silver lines all along its foliage. It requires little light to thrive, but appreciates a warm, humid environment. It does very well in a hanging pot. We love it for the movement of its leaves throughout the day. We recommend watering with demineralized water, which can be purchased at the pharmacy, or with rainwater. Melted snow works very well! Marantas do not tolerate the excess minerals found in tap water very well. This excess can cause root burns and damage the foliage.
