Maranta Leuconeura 'Gold Lines', often called the 'prayer plant' because of its tendency to fold its leaves at night. The leaves are oval, smooth, and glossy, medium to dark green, adorned with golden or yellow veins that stand out beautifully against the green background. The veins create a very graphic linear pattern, hence the name "Gold Lines." It requires little light to thrive, but appreciates a warm and humid environment. It does very well in a hanging pot. We recommend watering with demineralized water, which can be purchased at the pharmacy, or with rainwater. Melted snow works very well! Marantas do not tolerate the excess minerals found in tap water very well. This excess can cause root burns and damage the foliage.
