From the same family as the Marantas, the Ctenanthes perform similar movements depending on the time of day. We love it for the pattern and coloring of its foliage. Indeed, the top of the leaves bear shades of dark green to pale green, while the underside bears a beautiful purple color. Ctenanthes require little light to flourish, but appreciate a warm and humid environment. We recommend watering with demineralized water which can be bought in pharmacies or with rainwater. Slush works great! They don't tolerate the excess minerals found in tap water very well. This excess can cause burns at the roots and damage the foliage.

Non-toxic to animals.
