Also called Valentine Hoya or Sweetheart Hoya due to its thick, heart-shaped green leaves. There are two common forms:

  • "Single leaf" form: a single heart planted in the pot. Very decorative and can develop a vine with a lot of patience.

  • Vining form: a stem with several heart leaves — this one grows normally and can become a long vine.

Non-toxic to animals.

  • Family: Apocynaceae
  • Origin: Southeast Asia.
  • Watering:
    • Spring to fall: Let half of the soil dry out between waterings.
    • Winter: Let the soil dry out completely between waterings.
  • Ambient humidity: Moderate.
  • Soil type: Light and well-drained.
  • Light: Moderate to high.
    • Orientation: Southeast, west, or 1 m from a south-facing window.
