Hoya endauensis is a rare species highly sought after by collectors, native to Malaysia (Endau-Rompin region, hence its name). Its thick, oval to lanceolate, glossy green leaves are slightly fleshy and arranged on flexible, climbing stems. They already provide a beautiful ornamental appeal even when not in bloom. But it is above all its remarkable flowers that make it famous: grouped in pendulous umbels, they are medium-sized and display a dark red to wine-brown corolla, waxy and shiny, contrasting with a bright yellow to orange corona in the center. However, it rarely blooms before it is 2 years old. To encourage flowering, it is recommended to place it in a bright room and reduce the frequency of repotting. It likes to be snug in its pot.
