Ficus deltoidea, also called Mistletoe Fig is a tropical plant that is prized for its decorative foliage and its unusual fruits that resemble miniature figs. The leaves are delta-shaped (triangle-shaped) and have pale veins. Figs are decorative but rarely eaten.

Interesting fact: Female leaves often have a small black dot in the center

  • Watering:
    • Spring to fall: Allow the first third of the potting soil to dry out between waterings.
    • Winter: Let the soil dry out completely between waterings.

  • Type of soil: Rich, but very draining.
    • Avoid water remaining in the saucer.
  • Brightness: Moderate to high.
    • Orientation: East, west or slightly away from a south window.
  • Growth: Fast.
  • Temperature: Warm, never below 12ᵒC and avoid drafts.
    • Between 15ᵒC and 25ᵒC.
