The Cycas revoluta, commonly known as the Sago Palm, is a spectacular ornamental plant that evokes the appearance of a small palm tree, although it is not part of the palm family. Highly prized in indoor and outdoor decoration, it stands out for its elegant habit and evergreen foliage. The thick and robust trunk, often short and cylindrical, from which a rosette of long pinnate fronds emerges. The evergreen foliage is leathery, dark green and shiny. Fronds can measure from 50 cm to 1.5 m depending on the age of the plant, resembling those of a palm or fern. Growth is very slow, sometimes only a few new leaves per year, but with exceptional longevity (several hundred years in the wild). In pots, it averages 60 to 120 cm, while in the ground, it can exceed 2 to 3 meters with age.

Warning. Risk of toxicity if ingested.
