We're familiar with turmeric in cooking; this yellow spice comes from the rhizome of the Curcuma Longa plant. Curcuma Alismatifolia is grown as an ornamental plant. Also known as the Siamese tulip or Thai tulip, it offers a beautiful summer bloom. Indeed, its pink spike-shaped inflorescence is not to be missed. Around September, flowering ends, growth stops, and the leaves begin to yellow and dry—this is the dormant period. For its dormant period, it is recommended to cut back the leaves in the fall and place it in a room that is not very heated during the winter. It is important to space out watering considerably; the soil must remain barely moist; the slightest excess water risks causing root rot. In the spring, you can start watering it regularly again; by placing the plant in the warmth, it will come back to dazzle you.

Caution! Risk of toxicity if swallowed.
