Cattleya is an elegant orchid much appreciated by collectors. The flowers are large and spectacular, ranging in color from white to pale cream, sometimes with a touch of very light pink or soft yellow in the center.
The labella (central petal) are slightly ruffled or embossed, creating a delicate contrast. Its fragrance is sweet, floral, and citrusy. To encourage blooming, it prefers a slight temperature difference between day and night. Like most orchids, the leaves are solid green, and the main attraction is its blooms. Also, this orchid prefers soft water and to be watered by soaking.
