The Goeppertia zebrina is a spectacular tropical plant appreciated for its large, velvety oval leaves. Its light green foliage is marked with broad dark green bands that resemble zebra stripes. The underside of the leaves generally has a purplish hue. With its lush foliage and upright habit, it adds a beautiful tropical touch to indoor spaces.
We recommend watering with demineralized water, which can be purchased at a pharmacy, or with rainwater. Melted snow also works very well! Calatheas do not tolerate the excess minerals found in tap water very well. This excess can cause root burn and damage the foliage.
