Calatheas have unusual foliage. The 'Purple Rose' variety has pink foliage with dark edges. It requires little light to thrive, but thrives in a warm, humid environment. We recommend watering with demineralized water, which can be purchased at the pharmacy, or with rainwater. Melted snow works very well! Calatheas do not tolerate the excess minerals found in tap water very well. This excess can cause root burns and damage the foliage.
