Calatheas have unusual foliage. This variety has large, round, very dark leaves with hints of pink. It requires little light to thrive, but thrives in a warm, humid environment. We recommend watering with demineralized water, which can be purchased at a pharmacy, or with rainwater. Melted snow works very well! Calatheas do not tolerate the excess minerals found in tap water very well. This excess can cause root burns and damage the foliage.
