Calatheas have unusual foliage. It catches the eye with the patterns of its slender foliage and its different shades of green. Its purple colored leaf underside brings elegance to any setting. The Calatheas are also called Peacock Plant, because their leaves have the particularity of closing in the evening and opening during the day. It requires little light to flourish, but appreciates a warm and humid environment. We recommend watering with demineralized water which can be bought in pharmacies or with rainwater. Slush works great! Calatheas do not tolerate the excess minerals found in tap water very well. This excess can cause burns at the roots and damage the foliage.

Non-toxic to animals.
