Calatheas have foliage that is out of the ordinary. It attracts the eye with the patterns of its slender foliage and its different shades of green. The purple underside of its leaf brings elegance to any decor. Calatheas are also called Peacock Plant, because their leaves resemble peacock feathers. It requires little light to flourish, but appreciates a warm and humid environment. We recommend watering with demineralized water which can be purchased in pharmacies or with rainwater. Melted snow works great! Calatheas do not tolerate excess minerals found in tap water very well. This excess can cause root burns and damage the foliage.
