Ananas comosus is a plant native to the tropical regions of Brazil, belonging to the Bromeliad family. It forms a rosette, the central part of which bears its flower and fruit. The pineapple can last several months before drying out and falling. Like all bromeliads, the rosettes die while forming their seeds. Before dying, they produce offshoots that will produce pineapples in turn. To ensure their growth, Ananas comosus appreciates strong light, even direct sunlight.
