Alocasia 'Black Velvet' has very dark, glossy foliage. It lives up to its name, as its leaves feel as soft as velvet. Alocasia prefers bright light and to be root-bound in its pot. Also, Alocasias are very thirsty for water and fertilizer. During its growing season, in summer, it is recommended to keep its soil slightly moist and to fertilize regularly.
Warning! Risk of toxicity if ingested. Alocasia sap contains oxalic acid - risk of irritation if it comes into contact with skin or eyes.
